ABSTRACT

COVID-19 refocused the importance of social responsibility awareness and social performance measurement of health care. Hospitals must carry out social accountability behaviors while still providing adequate facilities and services. However, any analysis of social performance still contains many ambiguities and can differ in its reference points depending on the nature of the different stakeholders. The study uses an explanatory study to measure the social performance of hospitals in Indonesia and examine the indicators and dimensions that influence social performance in hospitals the most. Data of 752 accredited hospitals were obtained from the Indonesian Commission on Accreditation of Hospital (ICAHO) in Indonesia. Data analysis was conducted using Structural Equation Model (SEM) methodology and SPSS AMOS software. The study found a significant and positive effect of environmental forces and information technology resources on social performance. Further, the study found that intrapreneurship (entrepreneurship efforts within established institutions) in hospitals mediated the effects of organizational architecture, environment forces, and information technology toward/in favor of social performance. This study contributes to improving the quality healthcare by demonstrating novelty for how social performance can be measured and better efforts adopted to produce more social value-based healthcare through the use of organizational architecture, environmental forces, and information technology.

ABSTRACT

During the COVID-19 pandemic in Indonesia, examination and relaying of important health information were done with the support of information technology. Therefore, this study measures information technology (IT) within hospitals through IT adoption and IT integration. The study uses data of 752 accredited in Indonesia. The study uses a descriptive analysis and ANOVA to identify the score of different locations, classes, and accreditations of hospitals to determine whether there are any associations or significant differences between the top- and lower-class hospitals. The results indicate that hospital classes A, B, C, and D in Indonesia apply information processing related to the storage, retrieval, sharing, and use of health services information for communication and significant decision-making. However, there are no significant distinction in the prevalence of IT usage among these hospitals. This study contributes to the understanding of the current rate of adoption and integration of information technology resources. © The Author(s) 2022.

ABSTRACT

In the recent decade, practitioners and researchers have paid close attention to ecommerce. In this regard, most studies have focused on the effect of e-commerce adoption on an organisation's e-commerce performance. However, this line of research falls short in explaining how e-commerce maturity affects e-commerce performance. As such, this study examines and clarifies E-Commerce Maturity and E-commerce adoption as the cause for the focus of Indonesian Creative Industry business visionaries at COVID-19 in Indonesia. Previous research has not established which variable has the most impact on improving company performance. This study gathered data from 383 respondents who owned resourceful creative businesses and utilised the concept of ECommerce using a cluster random sampling technique. The data were quantitatively evaluated using the AMOS programme utilising the structural equation modelling (SEM) technique. This study discovered a positive and significant direct effect of ecommerce adoption on e-commerce performance. Additionally, e-commerce maturity considerably impacts e-commerce success, exerting a more substantial influence than ecommerce adoption. Further, the study discusses numerous implications for theory and practice. © 2022. All Rights Reserved.

ABSTRACT

This study’s purpose is to measure social performance in hospitals in Indonesia, specifically focusing on the tendency for hospitals to act in the process of achieving various targets with a focus on social impacts on the community, stakeholders, and the environment. Although previous studies on hospital performance exist, few focus on the aspect of social responsibility. This study offers a way to measure the current social performance of hospitals using valued reference by hospital stakeholders. This study uses descriptive analysis and ANOVA for the indicators of social performance in the context of hospitals in Indonesia. Data used are from the Indonesian Commission on Accreditation of Hospital (ICAHO). This study uses data from 752 accredited hospitals in Indonesia. Results show that there were no significant differences in social performance between the different classes of hospitals. Social performance was found to be moderate on average for all classes: A, B, C, and D. However, across different accreditation levels of hospitals in Indonesia, social performance is scored as moderate with significant differences between the groups of accreditations. The implications of the results from this study provide a practical reference point measuring social performance for accredited hospitals in Indonesia.

ABSTRACT

Purpose The study aims to analyze the role of coronavirus testing capacity to possibly reduce the case fatality ratio (CFR) in a large cross-section of countries. The study controlled health-care expenditures, logistics performance index (LPI), carbon damages, and corporate social responsibility (CSR) to understand the nature of causation between the CFR and stated factors. Design/methodology/approach The study used a cross-sectional regression apparatus for coefficient estimates and variance decomposition analysis (VDA) for forecasting relationships between the variables over time. Findings The results confirmed the W-shaped relationship between CFR and case-to-test ratio (CTR) in the presence of a LPI that exacerbates the CFR cases across countries. The VDA estimates suggest that carbon damages, logistics activities, and CSR are likely to influence CFR over time. Originality/value To the best of the authors' knowledge, the study is believed to be the first study that assesses the W-shaped relationship between the CFR and CTR in the presence of dynamic variables, which helps to formulate long-term sustainable health-care policies worldwide.

ABSTRACT

With the sudden attack of the Corona Virus Disease 2019 (COVID-19), some 300 million children in the world have been forced to study at home because of the mass closure of schools that began on March 18, 2020. This has caused many obstacles in the teaching and learning process. Every effort is made to minimize the COVID-19 pandemic while ensuring the teaching and learning process is not interrupted. If the school closures too long and the child is trapped inside the house this will have a negative impact on the physical and mental health of the children. This situation makes parents become worried and look for alternative education in addition to formal schooling for their children. Of the various types of education offers that exist homeschooling or commonly known as home-based learning provides a way out for the current situation. Now children are quarantined in their homes and they will return to school once this epidemic fades. But with this disaster, parents' views on homeschooling or home-based learning can be different from before. They may still be marked if home-based learning can be a long-term education. With the existence of COVID-19, most parents might finally realize that education without formal schooling is not a crisis but an opportunity to take their children to a better future. This research was conducted by utilizing a descriptive qualitative method and within the descriptive qualitative method, the concept of document analysis would be utilized the most. It was expected that the results of this research would explore what type of technology parents could prepare for their children to use to initiate home-based learning. © 2020 IEEE.

ABSTRACT

COVID-19 pandemic has brought the world into economic recession. This study aims to present an analysis of the readiness of creative e-commerce in Indonesia. Data was collected from various locations that may represent the Creative Industry in Indonesia. The quantitative method has been applied as a research approach by gathering questionnaires from 383 business owners selected using the cluster random sampling method. Based on the results of the analysis and discussion, it is concluded that E-Commerce Readiness is very important in times of uncertainty such as the COVID-19 pandemic. The level of readiness will determine the continuity and sustainability of a company or business in a volatile business environment. E-Commerce Readiness can be evaluated based on Technology Readiness, Organizational Readiness, and Environmental Readiness. Not all perspectives are taken into consideration in making decisions about the implementation or improvement of E-Commerce in the pandemic period. Technology Readiness is seen as the most significant impact on a company’s ability to cope with volatility, while Environmental Constraints encourage businesses to adopt E-Commerce and take it to the next level. On the other hand, Organizational Readiness has no effect on the E-Commerce readiness of the company because the company or organization does not consider this aspect. © Copyright: The Author(s) This is an Open Access article distributed under the terms of the Creative Commons Attribution Non-Commercial License (https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc/4.0/) which permits unrestricted non-commercial use, distribution, and reproduction in any medium, provided the original work is properly cited.
